Lee Daniels: Oprah and Common Are Coming to Empire

Fox's Empire will only get bigger in Season 2. And it doesn't get any bigger than the Queen of All Media.

After Empire co-creator Lee Daniels told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday that he was trying to snag Oprah Winfrey for a guest appearance in Season 2, citizens of the Internet collectively crossed their fingers in the hopes that it would come true. Well hope no more.

Speaking to Access Hollywood at an Empire screening, Daniels confirmed that Winfrey will be on the show.

"Yes," Daniels said, when asked if he writing a part in Season 2 for Oprah. "Yeah, she's going to be on it."

He didn't give any details on her role, but we'll blame the reporter because she didn't ask.

Daniels also said the he was writing a role for rapper/actor Common after Common recently expressed interest in joining Empire. It's unclear whether Common has already agreed to play a part, but what's he going to do? Say no? No one says no to Empire.
