Once Upon a Time Casts Greg Germann for a Devilishly Mysterious Role

We have one helluva theory about this one!

Once Upon a Time could be getting ready for one hellish trip if our suspicions prove correct.

The fantasy drama has cast Ally McBeal's Greg Germann in a mysterious role for the second half of Season 5, TVGuide.com has confirmed. According to TVLine, who first broke the news, the character is being called "The Distinguished Gentleman." Much like our friend Mr. Gold, the character is always sharply dressed in a suit, and with his otherworldly powers is "the last person you ever want to share a drink with."

Considering that at New York Comic Con, co-creator Eddy Kitsis described the second half of the season as "hell," it sure seems like Germann could be playing the suave yet nefarious Hades. After all, the ruler of the Underworld did try to snuff out Hercules via... a drink. (At least in the Disney imagining of the legend.) Take a look to see if you think this sounds like Hades.

Germann will make his first appearance in the show's 100th episode, which will kick off the second half of the season in March.

How Once Upon a Time's Mulan taught Merida to be Brave

Speaking of the landmark episode, Once's 100th hour is shaping up to be quite villainous. Not only will the episode mark Germann's arrival and the return of Barbara Hershey as Cora, but Robbie Kay will also be returning as the diabolical Peter Pan for the episode and Giancarlo Esposito will reprise his role as Sidney Glass, TVGuide.com has confirmed. EW first reported the news.

Since we last saw Pan when his son Rumplestiltskin killed him, and Cora was killed by Snow White, is it possible that we'll meet up with them in the Underworld? Could Hades be planning to unleash the villains of Storybrooke past? And how might Sidney (aka The Magic Mirror) factor in?

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8/7c on ABC.
