Once Upon a Time has found the head of the Round Table, not that it has a head since it's round, but you get the idea. Liam Garrigan has been cast as King Arthur, TVGuide.com has confirmed. EW first reported the news.
Garrigan, who previously appeared in 24: Live Another Day will make his first appearance in the Season 5 premiere and will heavily recur through the first half of the new season. Once's King Arthur is described as a "good and just ruler" who, beneath the surface, is "a master manipulator who can carry a grudge to the grave." He bears an "eternal burning love" for the yet-to-be-cast Guinevere that borders on controlling.
Judging from his appearance in 2014's The Legend of Hercules, he's definitely got that "carry a grudge" thing down already. Check him out in the movie's trailer. (He first shows up at the 0:33 mark as Hercules' older brother Iphicles, the guy who's not the shirtless Kellan Lutz.)
Once will be taking the trip to Camelot as the Season 4 finale revealed that the only person who can save the new Dark One, Emma, is King Arthur's mentor, that legendary sorcerer Merlin.
ABC is still looking to cast Merlin as well as Guinevere, but we do at least know that Sinqua Walls will return as Lancelot. While he's supposedly dead in the current timeline, we'll likely see some Camelot of old.
