Which Oscar Winner Has Joined Oliver Stone's Snowden?

Nicolas Cage has joined the Oliver Stone film Snowden.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner will play a former U.S. intelligence officer. As previously announced, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play the titular NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden alongside Shailene Woodley, who will play his girlfriend. Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tim Olyphant, Joely Richardson, Tom Wilkinson and Rhys Ifans will also appear in the film.

The movie is based on The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World's Most Wanted Man. Snowden was also the subject of the documentary Citizenfour which won the Academy Award on Sunday night.

Snowden is slated for release on December 25.
