The comedy will follow Minaj's childhood in Queens
ABC Family has ordered a half-hour comedy based on Nicki Minaj's life, the network announced Tuesday.
The single-camera series will document Minaj's family's immigration from Trinidad to the U.S., her childhood growing up in Queens in the early '90s and her evolution into a pop superstar.
"This is one of the more unique adventures I've ever embarked on," Minaj said in a statement. "I couldn't be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special."

Sex Tape's Kate Angelo will write and executive-produce the series along with Minaj.
The actress who will play young Minaj hasn't been cast, but the Grammy nominee shared that she's now on the hunt for the right girl.
