A little delayed, but News Corp. has decided to adopt a new name for its umbrella company that includes Fox studios: 21st Century Fox.

Deadline.com reports that because of the separation of News Corp.'s businesses into two independent companies, the entertainment side was going to be renamed Fox Group, but opted with 21st Century Fox, which will include the gamut of networks (Fox, FC, Fox Sports and National Geographic, among many others), among other entities.  However, the film studio Twentieth Century Fox Film and TV studio Twentieth Century Fox Television that fall under the umbrella will both keep their names as is.

Fall TV Scorecard: Renewed or canceled?

Rupert Murdoch sent out a memo to employees to announce the name change. "After much exploration, and valuable input from our executive team, we've chosen the name 21st Century Fox to take us into the future," he wrote. "21st Century Fox is a name that draws upon the rich creative heritage of Twentieth Century Fox, while also speaking to the innovation and dynamism that must define each of our businesses through the 21st Century. Our new name is inspired by the very first company we acquired nearly thirty years ago as our initial foray into the awe-inspiring world of entertainment."
