Fondle your sweaters and hump the fridge! Netflix is in talks to resurrect Wet Hot American Summer as a TV series, Variety reports. If the 10-episode prequel series does move forward, the plan is to reunite most of the original cast, who would continue to play high schoolers despite the fact most of them are now in their 40s. Since much of the cast is currently busy with other projects, the plan would be to take a cue from Arrested Development's fourth season and not include every character in every episode. This would allow the actors to film their scenes in only a matter of days. The 2001 cult classic, from David Wain and Michael Showalter, has long been rumored to return with a sequel or prequel film, but never a series. A few years ago, Wain revealed that he had been working on a script for a follow-up movie.

And while Universal Pictures refused Wain's request to film any new material for a 10th anniversary DVD release, telling the director, "Nobody cares," it seems the distributor is considering having a change of heart.
The surreal film, which took place over the course of the one day at the fictional Camp Firewood in the summer of 1981, starred Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Ken Marino, Molly Shannon,Christopher Meloni, Michael Ian Black, Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Joe Lo Truglio and Showalter.
