Netflix Is Killing Off the User Reviews Feature

You'll no longer be able to share your opinions with the world

If you're an opinionated TV or film auteur who loves to share their thoughts on Netflix, I'm afraid I've got some bad news. The streaming giant has decided to nix the user review section, meaning you'll no longer be able to tell the world why you thought Set It Up would have been better served by focusing the story more on Kirsten's quest for love since Lucy Liu is amazing and there can never be too much of her.

According to Variety, Netflix will stop accepting user-submitted by reviews by July 30 and by mid-August, all standing reviews will be deleted from the platform. The move actually makes sense for Netflix since reviews were only accessible through desktop and that platform had seen a steep decline in usage over time.

This comes after the streaming service nixed its five-star rating system last year and replaced it with the more accurate thumbs up, thumbs down feature which was not only easier to understand, but also delivered more accurate recommendations. As a result, users have increased their ratings of films and shows by a whopping 200 percent.

So yeah, change might be scary but this one is definitely for the better.
