Pauley Perrette may return to CBS next season. The NCIS actress has taken a role in the network's comedy pilot Broke, oppositeJane the Virgin's Jaime Camil, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Perrette left NCIS in 2017 after 15 years playing the character Abby Sciuto on the procedural drama. She revealed last spring that she left the show after suffering "multiple physical assaults." At the time of her exit, CBS Studios said that Perrette had approached them with a "workplace problem" that they helped her resolve. The production company is also behind this new comedy, which is executive-produced by Jane creator Jennie Snyder Urman.

If the pilot is picked up to series in May, Perrette will play Jackie, "a tough and sharp-witted loving single mother who is struggling to raise her 9-year-old son," according to THR. She also runs a bar and has a low tolerance for bulls---, which gets tested when her snobby sister and rich husband show up on her doorstep. But because this is CBS, no doubt Jackie and her sibling will learn to appreciate each other and their differences eventually!

The series would mark Perrette's first TV role since departing NCIS.

CBS has yet to respond to TV Guide's request for confirmation of Perrette's casting.
