NBC Cancels Constantine, State of Affairs, Marry Me, One Big Happy, and About A Boy

Looks like the demons won this round.

Freshman series Constantine, which premiered in October, was not picked up for a second season by NBC, the network announced Friday. The network halted production after 13 episodes in November.

The network will also not be bringing back Katherine Heigl's political drama State of Affairs, nor comedy series Marry Me, About A Boy, and One Big Happy.

State of Affairs starred Heigl as a CIA analyst helping the president handle national security issues and trying to solve the terror attack that killed her fiance.

Marry Me was about a couple (played by Casey Wilson and Ken Marino) navigating the rocky road from dating to engagement.

About A Boy was a 2014 midseason replacement based on the 2002 movie about a grown man making friends with a little boy. Its episode count was trimmed earlier this year.

One Big Happy premiered less than two months ago. It was about a nontraditional family where a guy got married to a woman he just met after getting his lesbian best friend pregnant.

Constantine was based on a DC Comics superhero, an immortal demon hunter named Constantine (played by Matt Ryan) who gets back into the demon-killing business to save his friend's daughter's soul (and possibly his own in the process).

Showrunner Daniel Cerone tweeted out the news and a plea for fans to help on Friday:
