It's official: The Blacklist spinoff is happening at NBC.
Called Blacklist: Redemption, the series began in earnest in last week's episode of The Blacklist, when Famke Janssen's character Susan "Scottie" Hargrave was introduced in a mysterious new storyline.
In Redemption, Susan Hargrave (Janssen), is the cunning chief of Grey Matters, a secret organization that solves problems governments can't, according to a description from The Hollywood Reporter. Ryan Eggold will also star in Redemption, as Tom Keen teams up with Scottie. As they hunt for Liz's attacker, Tom learns that Scottie is his mother, meaning he'll not only be chasing down criminals with her but also slowly uncovering more about his past.
Blacklist: Redemption marks the sixth new drama in NBC's lineup for the upcoming season. and is likely to arrive in midseason. It's now the second franchise at NBC, along with Dick Wolf's Chicago series, which just added Chicago Justice.
