Okay, maybe we haven't seen the last of Rayna (Connie Britton) crooning a classic at the Bluebird Cafe, or Deacon (Charles Esten) having another breakdown, or Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) guzzling down a magnum of champers. Once thought to be dead, the ABC country-music drama Nashville is nearing an 11th-hour save from another network. That mystery network is, appropriately, basic cable's CMT (Country Music Television), which is in the late stages of negotiations with Nashville producer Lionsgate, according to Deadline. The deal could be done by Wednesday, which would allow CMT to announce the deal during its Wednesday night broadcast of the CMT Awards. Better book your flight now, Connie Britton.Nashville might get a second life elsewhereThough Nashville was on the bubble all through its fourth season, you couldn't tell by the creative decisions the show made. Despite the fact that Nashville's chances of continuing on at ABC weren't good, producers opted to end Season 4 with a cliffhanger and put Juliette on a plane that went missing in the episode's final moments. Now we'll finally get to see if Juliette had to eat a flight attendant to survive.Nashville also made the unusual choice to hire new showrunners for a potential fifth season, booking thirtysomething vets Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick to head things if Nashville continued. If the deal does go through, they'll be the new show bosses. Are you excited for more Nashville?
