Here's When My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic's Ninth and Final Season Premieres

You'll soon have to say goodbye to the Mane 6.

Discovery Family unveiled the premiere date for My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic's ninth and final season, which is right around the corner. Per the Hollywood Reporter, the final descent begins Saturday, April 6 at 11:30 a.m. The remaining 26 episodes will feature new songs and characters, along with Patton Oswalt and "Weird Al" Yankovic reprising their roles as Quibble Pants and Cheese Sandwich.

Based on the popular Hasbro toys, the series centers on Twilight Sparkle who is sent to Ponyville to improve her social skills. There, she befriends Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity who 've been imbued with the spirits of magic, honesty, loyalty, laughter, kindness and generosity. By working together, these fast friends learn many of life's lessons including the most important of all--the power of friendship.

The season premiere will feature back-to-back episodes, titled "The Beginning of the End," which find Twilight Sparkle next in line to rule Equestria when Princess Celestia and Princess Luna decide to retire. The move sparks self-doubt in Twilight who is unsure if she can fill some very big hooves. But unbeknownst to her, an ancient villain has been gathering his dark forces and it's up to the Mane 6 to stop this growing threat before it's too late.
