Candice Bergen, who recently did a recurring stint on NBC's forthcoming Law & Order: Trial by Jury, has joined the cast of ABC's Boston Legal as a full-time regular. The Murphy Brown vet will play Crane, Poole & Schmidt's third name partner, Shirley Schmidt. To make room for Bergen (read: $$$$), producers have decided to drop Lake Bell, who plays young attorney Sally Heep.
