MTV May Cast Next Legally Blonde Star

According to Playbill.com, MTV may be casting the next lead of Legally Blonde on Broadway. And while it might seem that the network home of The Hills is taking a big leap in taking on a reality show about the Hill — on stage in New York City — MTV aired the musical production in October, complete with a celeb-laden pink carpet, including The Hills own Lauren Conrad. The musical, which is based on the eponymous 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon, currently stars Laura Bell Bundy. Playbill reports that casting for the reality show to cast the stage show (still with us?) is set to start Jan. 21 in Orlando, Florida, with filming of the series to go on in March. What remains to be seen is if the new star of Legally Blonde will go on to have her own reality spin-off once production winds down. We'll be waiting for such potential follow-ups as "Brooklyn Heights" and "The Upper East Side." — Anna Dimond
