The circle of life is happening on Modern Family in Season 10. A few episodes after the death of DeDe Pritchett (Shelley Long), Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Claire's (Julie Bowen) mother, the ABC sitcom revealed that Haley (Sarah Hyland), the eldest of the Dunphy kids, is pregnant.
In Wednesday's episode, "Did the Chicken Cross the Road?," Haley and her boyfriend Dylan (Reid Ewing) were indulging in childish behavior after Luke (Nolan Gould) diagnosed her with "Peter Pan Personality," i.e. she refuses to grow up. While they were doing bumper cars at a carnival, Haley accidentally got lipstick up her nose, and when they went to the hospital, the nurse casually revealed that Haley is pregnant. So it's time for Peter Pan to grow up. Adding to the twist is the fact that the baby's father could either be Dylan or Haley's ex Arvin (Chris Geere).

After the episode, Hyland shared a behind-the-scenes selfie of her trying on her new baby bump that she'll be wearing in upcoming episodes. "Well I guess the cat's outta the bag!!!" she wrote. "Or more like the bump's outta the shirt!..... that was a horrible joke. I apologize."
Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on ABC.
