Following reports that Jersey Shore's Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino had checked into rehab Tuesday, the MTV reality star chose to set the record straight on his own.
On Wednesday, he tweeted, "Don't believe everything you hear or read."
He later elaborated on his website. "I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion," wrote Sorrentino, 29. "I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans' support and love you guys."
