Those who like getting their Patrick Jane fix on Tuesdays should not fret that The Mentalist is airing a brand-new episode this Sunday at 10 pm/ET.
"Right now, we are so happy with how it's doing in its current time period, I don't think we'd move it," CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler told reporters Wednesday at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour.
Instead, CBS is hoping to goose the red-hot freshman series' ratings even further — not that it has needed help delivering all-time highs on a recurring basis. "It gets crazy, crazy, insane numbers," Tassler acknowledges, "but I also think there are people that haven't [sampled it]."
This Sunday's episode — in which a business tycoon's son-in-law is found dead near a stolen $50 million painting — is deemed a "great" one by Tassler. It leads out of CBS' coverage of the NFL's AFC Championship Game.
