Matthew Perry Cast as Ted Kennedy in Reelz Miniseries
The Friends star will play the late senator in The Kennedys – After Camelot
In a dead-on casting decision, Matthew Perry will star as Ted Kennedy in Reelz's upcoming limited series The Kennedys - After Camelot, TVLine reports.
Based on J. Randy Taraborrelli's book After Camelot: A Personal History of the Kennedy Family 1968 to Present, the long-in-the-works four-part miniseries will focus on Ted Kennedy as he and his family pick up the pieces after his brothers' assassinations. The series will include the fallout from the Chappaquiddick incident.
The series is a follow-up to Reelz' 2011 series The Kennedys, which starred Greg Kinnear as JFK and Katie Holmes as Jackie Kennedy. Holmes will reprise her role in After Camelot.
Perry will also executive-produce. The series is slated to premiere in spring 2017.
