Matthew Broderick is taking over television. The prolific actor is set to recur on ABC's Roseanne spin-off The Conners as a love interest for Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) before popping over to FX's Better Thingsfor yet another recurring stint. And in case that wasn't enough, he has also landed his first series regular role in Netflix's new post-apocalyptic show Daybreak, according to Deadline.

The Netflix series is based on the graphic novel Daybreak, about a 17-year-old boy named Josh who is searching for his missing girlfriend, Sam, after the apocalypse. To find her, he has to rely on the help of a pyromaniac 12-year-old named Angelica and his former bully turned pacifist samurai Wesley. The trio then must navigate a world of evil jocks, cheerleaders turned Amazon warriors, zombie-like creatures called Ghoulies and more to be able to locate Sam. Broderick will play Josh's former high school administrator, the "cheerful and upbeat" Principal Burr.
