The second season of Amazon's hit comedy-drama series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel hasn't even dropped yet, but the streaming service has already given the green light to a third run of the show, at the apparent request of creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
As reported by Variety, the creator announced her desire to see the series receive an early extension -- as it was originally ordered up to be two seasons, consisting of 18 episodes -- as she collected a Peabody Award for Entertainment in New York City Saturday evening.
"You're going to give it to us because we're bringing home the fancy thing, right?" she said.
As the old adage goes, "The worst they can do is say no," and apparently, that wasn't a problem for Sherman-Palladino, as the studio gave the all clear for a third season shortly after the request wen public. Well played.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel returns for Season 2 later this year on Amazon.
