Marisa Tomei has landed a recurring role on Empire's second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Oscar winner will play Mimi Whiteman, a demanding venture capitalist and billionaire who loves hip-hop, social trends, beautiful women - and watch out, Cookie! - high-end fashion.

Tomei won't be the only new face when the Fox hit returns Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c. Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Adam Rodriguez will also appear. Though no word on Oprah yet.

Tomei is best known for the films My Cousin Vinny, The Wrestler, In the Bedroom and Crazy, Stupid, Love. Though she began her career on television on As the World Turns and A Different World, her most recent television credit was four episodes of Rescue Me in 2006.
