Hallmark Channel has ordered a new daytime talk show to be hosted by Marie Osmond that will debut this fall, the cable channel announced on Wednesday.
Marie! will air weekday afternoons and cover topics as varied as lifestyle tips and trends, socially important issues and the always-important celebrity dish. Her guests will include famous faces, close friends and family members, as well as everyday people and experts in various fields.
"Marie Osmond has entertained millions of people since her career launched at the tender age of three," Hallmark Channel's Executive Vice President Michelle Vicary said in a statement. "She is someone we all feel that we know, and the essence of who Marie is fits perfectly with the Hallmark brand to be emotive, family-oriented and celebratory.
Osmond's new daytime venture comes after Hallmark Channel axed The Martha Stewart Show after two seasons. Hallmark launched an eight-hour block of Stewart-branded programs in September 2010, but following subpar ratings, that block has since been reduced to five hours.
