Matthew Vaughn has dropped out as the director of X-Men 3, citing family reasons. The up-and-comer — whose breakthrough pic, Layer Cake, is currently in theaters — reportedly did not want to move his London-based family to Los Angeles and Vancouver for the film's shoot. Despite the setback, reps for 20th Century insist X3 is still on track to bow next May. I'm sure they also think Kingdom of Heaven is on track to turn a profit.
