Louis Tomlinson, Father-to-Be: "It's a Very Exciting Time"

Louis Tomlinson spoke about his impending fatherhood publicly for the first time during an appearance on Good Morning America Tuesday.

After One Direction performed on the show, host Michael Strahan congratulated Tomlinson "from one father to another," and asked how the 23-year-old was feeling about becoming a dad.

"Obviously it's a very exciting time," Tomlinson responded. "Thank you."

News broke last month that Tomlinson is expecting his first child with his friend Briana Jungwirth, a hairstylist. Though the pregnancy was unexpected and Jungwirth and Tomlinson are not in a relationship, they plan to co-parent the child.

One Direction was on GMA to perform "Drag Me Down," the band's first single as a quartet after the departure of Zayn Malik earlier this year. The group is currently prepping its fifth studio album.
