Lindsay Lohan says she was attacked early Sunday morning at a New York hotel, according to Newsday.

Lohan, 26, returned to the W Hotel in Union Square with a male friend. A confrontation began when he started taking pictures of her with a cell phone, a law enforcement official told the paper. Police responded to the hotel around 6 a.m. on a call of a female assault after Lohan pulled the fire alarm at the hotel.

"While she did sustain some injuries, she was not hospitalized," Lohan's rep, Steve Honig, said in a statement. "The assailant was arrested and is currently in police custody."

Chris Labella, a 25-year-old Los Angeles resident, was arrested and charged with third degree assault and harassment in connection with Lohan's claim. However, the charges against Labella were dropped late Sunday and he and Lohan are expected to instead file harassment suits against each other.

Lohan's rep said that actress had been in touch with the police and that she is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Report: Lindsay Lohan rushed to hospital

Lohan was briefly hospitalized for a chest infection last week and was charged with leaving the scene of an accident on Sept. 19 after she allegedly hit a man with her Porsche. She will next be seen in the Lifetime TV movie  Liz & Dick, which airs in November on Lifetime.
