Lil Wayne Explains Seizures: I Have Epilepsy

After speculation about Lil Wayne's health went into overdrive (and sometimes fictional territory) during his recent hospital stay, the rapper has now revealed the cause of his seizures.
"The bad news is, I'm an epileptic, so I'm prone to seizures," Weezy revealed Thursday on Los Angeles' Power 106 radio station. "This isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures; y'all just never hear about it. This time it got real bad because I got three of 'em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could've died soon. That's why it was so serious."

Many reports claimed that the seizures were a result of consuming too much sizzurp, but Wayne said that they were simply due to exhaustion. "The reason for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That's typical me, though," he continued.While Wayne didn't quite deny TMZ's report that he was being prepared for his last rites, he did imply that the website had lied. "I can't be upset at that. I get upset at my kids when they do things that I tell 'em not to do; I can't get upset at TMZ for doing what they do," he said with a laugh. "The truth isn't good enough for them, so they gotta twist everything up."
