Lifetime Axes The Protector After One Season

The Protector will not be back on the force for a second season, Deadline reports.

Lifetime has opted not to order another season of the freshman cop drama starring Ally Walker as a single mother raising two sons while working as an LAPD homicide detective.

The Protector debuted in June to 1.9 million viewers, before slipping to 600,000 total viewers for its Aug. 8 episode. The show has two new episodes left to air and will wrap its run on Monday, Sept. 19.
