Mel Gibson's '80s hair not included
Hey, just what nobody wanted: Another reboot!
The latest victim of Hollywood's old-ideas-are-new-again craze is Lethal Weapon, which is getting turned into a TV show over at Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Fox has given the project a put pilot commitment, which involves a financial fine for the network if the pilot doesn't air it.
The original Lethal Weapon came out in 1987, starring a young Danny Glover and Mel Gibson. It spawned three sequels and countless weekend movie marathons.
The cast of Beverly Hills 90210: Where are they now?
The show will focus on the same characters (presumably played by new actors): Martin Riggs, a loose cannon with nothing to lose, and Roger Murtaugh, a middle-aged and cautious sensible family man. Evidently, the movie's producers have given their proverbial blessing to the reboot, though they won't be involved at all.
Will you tune in? Who do you think should be cast in the lead roles?
