Legends of Tomorrow: Nick Zano Cast As Dr. Nate Heywood

Nick Zano has joined the cast of Legends of Tomorrow,Deadline reports. In season two, Zano will play Dr. Nate Heywood, the alter ego of comic book character Citizen Steel, whose powers include super strength, invulnerability, organic metal skin and superhuman speed.

In the comics, Heywood is a member of the Justice Society of America, whose impending presence was teased at the end of season one when Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams) crashed his ship in 2016.

Zano's casting in the new series regular role is the latest change coming to Legends of Tomorrow following shake-ups at the end of season one that included the departure of Ciara Renée's Hawkgirl, as well as the bumping down of Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold to recurring.

Producer Marc Guggenheim teased high concept changes for next season, saying, "The season finale planted some very significant flags in terms of what the new concept of the show will be in season 2. The team's mission statement for Season 2 is more compelling than Season 1."
