Why'd she almost cry?
Leah Remini still had more to say about Katie Holmes on Monday after her interview with 20/20 Friday.
Promoting her book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology on Good Morning America, Remini said that although she and Holmes weren't on great terms after Holmes wrote reports about her to Scientology officials, she's got goodwill towards her now, and is relieved that Holmes divorced Tom Cruise in 2012 and left Scientology.
Leah Remini slams Scientology, Tom Cruise in new memoir
Remini starts to choke up after Holmes' statement about the matter was read during GMA. ("I regret having upset Leah in the past and wish her only the best in the future," Holmes said in a statement last week.)
"At the time I was thinking of myself and my family and what we were going through; I had no idea that she was going through probably a lot more," Remini said. "Looking back now and seeing her and Suri out there in the world and her being able to be with her daughter and live her life, I'm touched by it, because I know now she did what she did, leaving in the way that she did, because she had to protect her daughter, which in a way connects us now."
