One more role is still up in the air

The Baxter family is going to look a little different when Last Man Standingreturns for Season 7.

TVLine reports that the roles of Mandy (Molly Ephraim) and Boyd (Flynn Morrison), Mike Baxter's (Tim Allen) daughter and grandson, will be recast for the upcoming season as Ephraim and Morrison have chosen not to return to the show. No new actors have been found to fill these roles yet, but casting is underway.

To make matters even more uncertain, Kaitlyn Dever, who plays the other Baxter daughter, Eve, is reportedly still in negotiations to return, so even that role is up in the air at the moment.

Fox chose to revive Last Man Standing for its 2018 lineup after the show was canceled by ABC in May of 2017. After a full year off the air, it's understandable that certain actors would have moved on to new projects and thus be unable to return, so news of recasts isn't too shocking. However, it remains to be seen if fans will follow the show to a new network and multiple recasts don't exactly help retain a loyal following.

Last Man Standing will air Fridays this fall at 8/7c on Fox.
