Is Armenia ready to keep up with the Kardashians?

Kim and Khloe Kardashian, accompanied by Kanye West and 22-month-old North, are currently on a visit to the Kardashian homeland of Armenia. Their late father, Robert Kardashian, was a third-generation Armenian American.

Though they haven't officially announced their reason for their first trip to Armenia, it's assumed that they're there to raise awareness of the 100-year anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Starting in April 1915, Turkish Muslims carried out attacks on minority Armenian Christians in the region, slaying an estimated 1 to 1.5 million people. Since then, Turkish leaders have admitted there was partisan bloodshed, but dispute the number of people killed, and do not consider it a genocide.

The office of the Prime Minister of Armenia released a statement hailing the "Kardashian family's contribution to the cause of international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian genocide." In the past, Kim Kardashian West has tweeted about the subject, and Khloe discussed it with then-husband Lamar Odom on TV.

In typical Kardashian style, Kim has been closely chronicling her visit on social media.

First, an Instagram of the throng of people awaiting them:

"Armenia we are here!!!!! We are so grateful to be here & start this journey of a lifetime! Thank you to everyone who greeted us! I can't wait to explore our country and have some yummy food!" Kim wrote, adding the hashtag #MyDadAndGrandParentsWouldBeSoProud.

She snapped a pic of Kanye and North taking in the crowd:

"My husband and daughter came to Armenia as well to see my heritage and learn about my ancestors! My cousins came along too! So excited I can't sleep," she captioned it.

The next day, she posted -- naturally -- a selfie of her brown-again hair and shimmering seafoam eyeliner.

"Turquoise vibes today #Armenia," she wrote.

The partial Kardashian clan met with Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on their trip. The country of 3 million will formally commemorate the Armenian Genocide on April 24.
