Kim Kardashian and Kanye West To Wed in Florence This Month

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are tying the knot in Florence on May 24, a spokeswoman for the city's mayor's office told The Associated Press.

The couple will wed in the 16th-century Belvedere Fort, located next to the Boboli Gardens, in a ceremony presided over by a Protestant minister. The rental of the fort cost $410,000, but proceeds will go to fund restoration of many of the city's artistic treasures.

West told Florence's La Nazione that he was "Very excited. But very happy" about tying the knot in Florence. (The rapper also added that he believed their daughter North was conceived "among the Renaissance masterpieces.")

"It was our first honeymoon," West said of their visit to Florence. "It's one of the most beautiful cities of the world, for me the most beautiful in Europe."

This will be the first marriage for West and the third for Kardashian. She was previously wed to Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries.
