Star Wars Actor Khan Bonfils Dies During Play Rehearsal in London

Actor Khan Bonfils died Jan. 6 when he collapsed during a play rehearsal in London, Britain's Telegraphreports. He was 42.

Bonfils was in rehearsals for the Craft Theatre company's upcoming production of Dante's Inferno when he collapsed and could not be resuscitated despite CPR efforts by his director. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

The production was scheduled to open Jan. 8, but has been postponed until this weekend at the earliest. "'The entire company are in shock," a spokesperson told the Telegraph. "There is absolutely severe sadness, it is a real tragedy. I think they are holding it together by talking it through and by being there for each other.''

Bonfils was a stage and screen actor whose film credits include the James Bond films Skyfall and Tomorrow Never Dies, as well as Batman Begins and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. He also played Jedi master Saesee Tiin in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.
