Kevin Pollak: "I'm a Charlatan!"

After taking a 10-year hiatus from the stand-up circuit to pursue films, celeb impersonator Kevin Pollak is back onstage. The funnyman says he finds joke material in the strangest places.

"I hear that Fox is actually going to have celebrity boxing," Pollak laughs to TV Guide Online. "It sounded like a hackneyed premise that a stand-up comedian who does impersonations would use. It inspired me. I can't wait for it to lead to Christopher Walken fighting William Shatner. That's my fantasy."

However, he is saddened that Long Island Lolita Amy Fisher backed out of her match with ex-skater Tonya Harding. "Those unyielding parole people — where are their priorities?" the 44-year-old quips. "Isn't this the best rehabilitation one could hope for young Fisher? To fight publicly instead of privately?"

All joking aside, Pollak's turned in some fine performances in A Few Good Men and The Usual Suspects — though he downplays the effort he puts into those roles. "I'm not really an actor," he winks. "I'm a stand-up comedian who has fooled all of you. I'm only now willing to talk about it because there's not much you can do about it. I am a charlatan, and I should be stopped."

Pollak — who portrays a rabbi in Stolen Summer (opening March 22) — tries to bring his sense of humor to all his roles. That's tougher when a film isn't the highest quality, like The Wedding Planner. "[Adam Shankman] was a first-time director and he's an old friend, so I did, like, one scene," he admits. "But I was inspired by J.Lo. In fact, I'm putting out a musical CD under the name of K.Po."
