Keck's Exclusives: Modern Family Going Down Under?

Modern Family executive producer Chris Lloyd clued me in over a month ago that the ABC sitcom was mulling an offer to shoot the series on location, possibly outside the United States. Now, Australian blogs are reporting that the Australian Tourism Board, which famously lured Oprah Winfrey and her audience down under for a special week of episodes, is offering to pick up the tab to fly the whole Modern Family production team over for a special episode. While ABC has yet to confirm, speculation is that the family may fly to Sydney for either a Christmas celebration or for Cam and Mitch's honeymoon.

The series previously sent the family to a Hawaiian resort, a Wyoming dude ranch and Disneyland.

While a source says the producers only wanted to make the trip if they were able to come up with a logical storyline for the families to fly across the globe, it's now sounding like a real possibility. I can already picture Luke and Manny in khakis hunting for crocodiles and Gloria tossing shrimp on the barbie.
