Get ready to be Scared Shrekless on October 28, when NBC presents the green ogre's Halloween follow-up to 2007's Shrek the Halls. The half-hour episode is made up of three vignettes, much like The Simpsons' annual "Treehouse of Horror."
The story begins when Shrek (Mike Myers), Fiona (Cameron Diaz) and their kids return home from scaring the village children to find Puss (Antonio Banderas), Donkey (Dean Edwards substituting for Eddie Murphy) and pals dressed up and waiting for them. The action then moves to Lord Farquaad's haunted castle, where the characters share scary tales.
"Gingerbread Man tells 'The Bride of Gingy,' Puss and Donkey tell 'The Boots Motel,' and then Shrek tells 'The Shrekxorcist,' about Pinocchio being possessed with his head spinning around," says director Gary Trousdale. "One by one the characters become terrified." Here's hoping they at least get some candy.
