Yeezus for President 2020?!

Kanye West announced he's running for president in 2020, and yet somehow that was the least nonsensical thing he said during his Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night.

After an introduction from Taylor Swift, and nearly three minutes of cheering, West started out by recounting the interruption heard around the world and how it still haunts him today. But then, in a mixture of rambling, yelling and heartfelt emotion, West delivered a speech only West could. Here are six things we believe he said.

1. He regrets interrupting Swift and thinks about it often
"I think about when I'm in the grocery store with my daughter and I have a really great conversation about fresh juice ... and at the end they say, 'Oh you're not that bad after all,'" West said. " It crosses my mind when I go to a baseball game and 60,000 people boo me. It crosses my mind. ... If I had a daughter at that time, would I have went onstage and grabbed the mic from someone else's? You know, this arena, tomorrow, it's going to be a completely different set up. The stage will be gone. After that night, the stage was gone but the effect it had on people remained."

2. He feels that he's the voice for artists
West began to talk about the contradiction of fighting for other artists, but also disrespecting them. "I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and Cee Lo lose," he said. "Justin, I ain't trying to put you on blast, but I saw that man in tears, bro. And I was thinking like, 'He deserved to win album of the year.' And the small box that we are as the entertainers of the evening, how could you explain that?"

3. He knows he (and other feuds) fuel ratings
West took a little jab at MTV saying, "All this s--t they run about beef and all that... look how many times MTV ran that footage again because it got them more ratings. You know how many times they announced Taylor was giving me the award because it got them more ratings." (MTV never actually confirmed that Swift would present the award to Kanye.)

4. He doesn't understand awards shows
Kanye actually made some sense saying, "I still don't understand awards shows. I don't understand how they get five people who work their entire life, sold records, sold concert tickets, to come stand on the carpet and for the first time in their life be judged on a chopping block and have the opportunity to be considered a loser. I don't understand it, bro!"

5. He smoked before the show
Next, Kanye got some laughs when he said, "You all might be thinking right now, 'I wonder, did he smoke something before he came out here?' The answer is yes, I rolled up a little something. I knocked the edge off."

6. He's running for President
Finally, Kanye delivered the biggest mic drop of the night."And yes, as you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for President."
