We really needed this

After a brief cameo earlier this week, Jon Stewart returned to The Late Show on Thursday (July 21), where the former Daily Show host delivered an impassioned and hilarious rant about the Republican National Convention and Donald Trump's presidential nomination.

Stewart took aim at how the conservative media, specifically Sean Hannity, has embraced Trump as a candidate, despite the fact that Trump shares many of the same characteristics that conservative media previously lambasted Barack Obama for having.

As Stewart explained, this hypocrisy is because the conservative media doesn't actually care about whether a president is thin-skinned, reads off a teleprompter or is an elitist. They just care about having someone that shares their views in the White House.

"You just want that person to give you your country back, because you feel you're this country's rightful owners," Stewart said. "There's only one problem with that: This country isn't yours. You don't own it. It never was. There is no real America. You don't own it. You don't own patriotism. You don't own Christianity. You sure as hell don't own respect for the bravery and sacrifice of military, police, and firefighters. Trust me. I saw a lot of people on the convention floor with their Blue Lives Matter rhetoric, who either remained silent or actively fought against the 9/11 first responders bill reauthorization. I see you, and I see your bullsh--. I see it!"
