Jon & Kate Plus 8's Jon Gosselin won't talk about the state of his marriage — but invites you to read about his family and watch their show.
"It's a private matter," Gosselin told E! News when asked if the couple has separated. "We'll handle it privately."
The patriarch said anyone who wants to know more about him should "read People" — referencing his new cover story — and "watch the show."
In his People sit-down, the father of eight says the couple isn't exploiting their children and that he will do everything to ensure their happiness — even if that means quitting the series.
With the frenzy surrounding the Gosselins' marriage, the series is as popular and buzzworthy as ever — the fifth-season premiere garnered 9.8 million viewers — putting the once-struggling TLC on the map. The cabler is up year-to-year in total viewers and in the women 18-49 demo, thanks to Jon & Kate, which has allowed TLC to launch new programs, TheWrap reports.
"If you have the chance to lift other boats in the ocean, that's a great opportunity," said Eileen O'Neill, president and general manager of TLC. "Certainly, the extensive viewership of Jon & Kate has turbocharged us."
Jon & Kate's fifth season contains 40 episodes, but O'Neill said she doesn't know if the Gosselins will still be together by season's end.
Guess we'll just have to watch.
