John Krasinski was, for a while, best known as the lovable Jim Halpert on The Office.Lately though, Krasinski 2.0 has been rebranded as an action star: appearing ripped on magazine covers and playing the lead in Michael Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. And now that he's teamed with Bay to star in Amazon's Jack Ryan series, Krasinski is literally no more Mr. Nice Guy.John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer staged an adorable The Office reunion: see the pic.Krasinski will star in the pilot of the new streaming show as Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan character, a popular C.I.A. hero, Deadline reports. He follows in the footsteps of other action heartthrobs who've played the character, including Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. Like their films, the new show will not be a direct adaptation of any one Ryan novel, but rather a contemporary look at the characters using the entire canon as source material. The hope is the franchise will live better on TV than it has in film recently (both Affleck's and Pine's takes were meant to spin-off into larger franchises, but ultimately fizzled out). How Krasinski will fare in the role remains to be seen but either way, he's clearly left his sweet sensitive comedic side in the dust. Abs like his don't come without sacrifice!
