Jimmy Fallon Gets College Degree --- 17 Years Later

Seventeen years after starting college, Jimmy Fallon has finally earned his sheepskin. 

The NBC Late Night hostput on a cap and gown and marched during the commencement ceremony at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y., on Saturday, according to People.

Fallon, 34, received a bachelor's degree in communications and an honorary doctorate of humane letters, and also served as the ceremony's keynote speaker.

"There's always going to be someone out there like that movie critic, who doesn't believe in you or who thinks your head is too big or you're not smart enough," the SNL alum said in his speech. "But those are the people you need to ignore, and those are the times you need to just keep doing what you love doing."

Fallon attended Saint Rose from 1992 to 1995, but dropped out a semester shy of graduation to pursue a comedy career in Los Angeles. The funnyman presented college officials with a portfolio of his film and TV work to satisfy his remaining credits in order to graduate.
