Early glimpses of Jim Carrey as a sad children's TV host plastering on a smile in Kiddingsuggest the series might be one of the best shows of the year. Apparently Showtime thinks so too -- the network is offering up an early look at the series for anyone who wants to check it out.
Jim Carrey About to Explode Looks Like Great Television in This Kidding Trailer
Kidding, which hasCarrey reunited with the French director Michel Gondry -- they gifted the world the existential modern classic Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind -- is available to stream for free right now on YouTube (above), Facebook and SHO.com. Though the 10-episode season will properly premiere after Shameless on Sunday, Sept. 9, its early release lets everyone board the train early.
But in case you're asking yourself what the heck this show is even about, here's what you need to know: Carrey plays Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles, an icon of children's television and a beacon of kindness, who begins to crumble after a personal crisis. Kidding promises to be as hilarious as it is heartbreaking as Jeff slowly loses his sanity. And as we've learned over the years, nobody does tragic comedy like Jim Carrey.
Kidding debuts Sunday, Sept. 9 at 10/9c on Showtime.
