19 Kids and Counting's Jill Duggar had a big weekend. The 23-year-old got married — and had her first kiss.

"It really hit me that Jill was leaving as she was packing her bag the other night," patriarch Jim Bob told the magazine. "We all realized she was really leaving. We are so glad that Derick is an answer to her prayers. It's an emotional time, but a joyful time."

Viewers watched in May as Jill and Derick met for the first time. After video-chatting with one another for three months, Jill flew to Nepal to meet him face-to-face with her dad in tow as a chaperone. The pair got engaged shortly after and decided they could finally hold hands. All other physical contact was saved for their special day.

"I think it is safer and makes it more special to wait to kiss until your wedding day," Jill previously told People. "To save the physical side of your marriage for your wedding day and not going further than you should — we want to have no regrets."

Jill's younger sister Jessa, who entered a courtship with Ben Seewald, also chose to wait on holding hands until their engagement. They're saving their first kiss for their wedding day as well.
