Firefly's Jewel Staite Joins Legends of Tomorrow

Jewel Staite has landed a guest-starring role on The CW's DC's Legends of Tomorrow, TVLine reports.The Firefly alum will play Rachel Turner, a tech genius and roboticist from the future who just so happens to be a descendant of an established DC Universe character. (Ben Turner or Amanda Turner, perhaps?) Though Rachel believes her creations will improve the world, once Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) gets a hold of her tech, he will use it to take over the world. That is, unless Rachel can help the Legends stop him.

Legends of Tomorrow's first season will also feature guest appearances by Carlos Valdes (The Flash's Cisco Ramon), Matt Nable (Arrow's Ra's al Ghul), Neal McDonough (Arrow's Damien Darhk), Ali Liebert as a love interest for Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Stephanie Corneliussen as villain Valentina Vostok.

Legends of Tomorrow premieres Thursday, Jan. 21 at 8/7c on The CW.
