Speaking with Brian Williams for an NBC Nightly News segment, Seinfeld said, "I think in a very drawn-out scale, I think I'm on the [autism] spectrum."

However, he's not claiming to have autism, Asperger Syndrome, or any of the other neurodevelopmental disorders associated with said spectrum.
Williams asked Seinfeld what markers he saw, and Seinfeld responded, "You're never paying attention to the right things. Basic social engagement is a struggle. I'm very literal. When people talk to me and they use expressions, sometimes I don't know what they're saying. But I don't see it as dysfunctional, I just see it as an alternate mindset."
