Fifty-two million dollars is a lot of money.

That's how much pre-tax money Jennifer Lawrence raked in between June 2014 and June 2015, making her the top-paid actress in the world, as Forbes announced Thursday. But it's still not as much as the top-paid actor, Robert Downey Jr. He scored $80 million. That means Jennifer Lawrence -- an Oscar winner who has helmed a global sensation with The Hunger Games movies -- still only makes 65 percent as much as her male counterpart.

So, in case you were curious, the gender pay gap is still A Thing, even if you're literally the highest earner in your field.

And lest you say it's because the Marvel movies are a bigger box office draw: Coming in at No. 2 on Forbes' list of loaded ladies is Scarlett Johansson, who co-starred with Downey in Avengers: Age of Ultron. She made $35.5 million in the same time period.

Forbes wrote an article comparing the two lists and noticed the disparities: The list of women made a combined $221 million, while the men pulled in $941 million. To make the list of the highest-paid actors, the minimum bar was $13 million; for women, only $6 million.

Coming up behind JLaw and ScarJo was Melissa McCarthy (MelMc?) with $23 million. Jackie Chan was the second-highest-paid actor with $50 million for the year, followed by Vin Diesel with $47 million.
