Jay Z and Beyonce were among the throngs of people who attended rallies across the country on Saturday in support of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed teenager who was fatally shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in 2012. Saturday marked one week since a jury cleared Zimmerman of all charges.

The power couple joined about 2,000 people in Manhattan to protest the "Stand Your Ground" laws that allowed Zimmerman to be acquitted last week, the New York Daily News reports. Rev. Al Sharpton and Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton, were also among the crowd.

Jay Z and Beyonce did not speak at the rally and did not grant interviews, saying they were there to show their support and not for publicity, according to the Daily News.

On Friday, Jay Z and Justin Timberlake performed at Yankee Stadium and dedicated the song "Forever Young" to Martin.
