What was he thinking?
If Hollywood had a national landmark society for celebrity features, Jared Leto's Christ-like hair would most certainly be on it (as would his awards-show fashion choices, his hypnotizing eyes, and his bizzaro Twitter feed). But unfortunately, no such organization exists, which means there was no one to stop his hair from getting chopped off.
Leto apparently snipped off his trademark locks for his role as The Joker in the upcoming DC Comics movie Suicide Squad, to the disappointment of many. Leto is taking over the role for the late Heath Ledger, who passed away in 2008.
The haircut was first teased by Suicide Squad director David Ayer in a tweet on Monday morning. The image showed a pair of scissors about to snip a ponytail, with the caption "Should we? #SuicideSquad"
Four hours later, Ayer tweeted a picture of Leto looking clean-shaven and much more clean-cut than the last time we saw him at this year's Oscars.
So it's true, and now we're all sad. Well, at least we still have Andrew Lincoln's crazy beard from The Walking Dead. OH WAIT.
Suicide Squad is due for release in the summer of 2016 and stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Tom Hardy.
What do you think of Leto's new 'do?
